More About Me
As some of you may be aware of, I am currently enrolled in the ETEP program at USM and absolutely enjoy being in school again - learning as well as teaching (especially when I get to meet cool kids like you!). What you may not know is that I was born and raised in Malaysia (the country sandwiched between Singapore and Thailand). When I was 18, I left home for college in Boston where I met Mr. Griffin. I did my undergraduate in Finance and International Business and went on to work for an oil company in Malaysia for 8 years where I spend most of my time traveling to countries in Asia and Europe.
Two years ago we decided to return to the United States to start a new life and so far love being reunited with family here. We have a beautiful daughter whom we love to pieces. Hanna is in 3rd grade and loves to dance, act and play soccer. We also have a tuxedo kitty named Salem who seems to be continuously planning his escape.
Besides English, I speak Malay and conversational Fench and Mandarin. I absolutely love traveling, photography, music and reading and in the last 2 yrs acquired interest in baseball thanks to Mr. Griffin's influence. I spend most of my leisure time with my family playing cribbage; gardening, kayaking and fishing when weather permits. I have recently taken up streetfunk dance classes so I can boogie with Hanna and bring the house down (or would like to think so).
I am petrified of lizards, snakes and frogs - so don't even think of asking me about them (I'm kidding - I should be ok so long as I don't have to touch or see them). Did I also mention that it is 80 degrees in Malaysia all year so I am having a hard time adjusting to Maine's cold weather. Brrr!
I am excited to be in your classroom and look forward to learning from each and everyone of you!
